Brooklyn Music Hall Review - by Michael Yagudayev (Street Teamer)
What started as one fan’s ambition to promote his new favorite band and just see them rock out live turned into an entire evening of awesome surprise. Bang Camaro had just embarked on their first national tour, and their third show was only a few miles from home. Of course, planning and planning and inviting everyone I knew took a lot of effort and patience. Plus throwing up posters in random New York City streets, video game retailers, and even around a whole college campus turned this event into something of a pride symbol.
The fun all started when I called a fellow Street Team Member whom happened to be with our one and only Jillian Santella, the Streets Team Manager and the only chick who can bluntly say "I’m with the band." We met up and had dinner in a small pub in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Jillian was there, along with Alex, Coley (fellow Streets Team Member), and Morgan. Dinner and drinks went all around and I got to chill with the crew and share a few laughs. Alex didn’t even strike me as the insane guitarist he is on stage, but an intuitive musician and all-around down-to-earth person. Hey who knew your new guitar idol had a brain?
After dinner we all walked to the Music Hall of Williamsburg, one of the most impressive music halls I’d seen in the Metro New York area. Outside is a large spinning marquee with "BANG CAMARO" posted in large red letters (too bad they didn’t turn the lights on). Inside, a bunch of the band members are already sitting around the bar, sipping drinks, getting "prepped" for the show. They were as polite as always and all shook my hand (apparently they still remembered me from the last show I went to). Everyone seemed to be in good spirits.
Bang Camaro finally comes on, opening the show with my personal favorite song, "Out on the Streets". Within seconds, the crowd is on its feet, headbanging, singing along, and just going crazy. This was the energy that is Bang Camaro. I shared the front row with Coley and Jillian and the rest was pure Camaro magic. They also played their new single, "Can’t Stop the Night" as well as a new version of "You Know I Like My Band".
Alex, Bryn, and Maclaine provided amazing guitaring and solos, Pete erupted his badass-ness on the drums, Dave gave the bass a lickin, and the whole choir, including the New York City chapter, rocked the house to its core. By the end of the night, my voice was completely gone and my ears rang loud enough to keep me up for a few days, which were spent listening to more Bang Camaro at full volume.
After the show, everyone was in high spirits and slightly inebriated (absolutely no stress on the word ’slightly’), and the band came out for autographs, questions, and of course, the fans. All in all, the night was beautiful, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it.
