Feb 3rd - Rock Rebellion Tour 2008 - Day 03: Brooklyn

The first thing you'll notice about the Music Hall of Williamsburg is the marquee. It is simply amazing. It is like the rings of Saturn partly protruding from the venue. It appears both totally high tech as well as something you would have seen in the late industrial revolution of the 1800's. Tonight it read "Bang Camaro w/ Cheeseburger." Awesome.

We load in and I quickly get to work calling our extra choir people from NY. This was going to be the heaviest extra-vocal turnout for the tour with 7 people. Most people don't pick up their cell phones when I call because they don't recognize my number, but they all got back to me right away. Everyone was going to make it. We also had most of our core Boston singers coming. In a few hours, the stage is going to be PACKED. I was a bit nervous because dealing with the extra singers is mostly my responsibility.

Graeme, one of our lead singers, has really stepped up to help out with our extra singers. Normally I'm busy trying to get my guitar working when people start showing up. So, Graeme shows them around, talks to everyone about what is expected of them, and generally keeps things moving until everyone is ready to sound check. We bring the group of 7 extras up to check a song, and it sounded amazing. The show is going to be awesome.

First, Cheeseburger again puts on an amazing show. These guys are hard to follow. If any of you are from the NY area, you should definitely check them out.

Now it's our turn. We historically do a lot better in Manhattan than in Brooklyn, but the place is packed! Our theme song plays and off we go! The crowd was great, and everything well smoothly... or at least as smooth as Bang Camaro shows can ever go. (I think I was only unplugged twice... not bad.) The extras came out for the final few songs and sounded great. Totally pro.

We all left the stage a triumphant and sweaty mess. Thanks for everyone who came out! Big thanks to some of my friends that traveled a long way to see the show. (Hey Dave, Dave, and Hank!) Up next ... Philly.
